Hi, so I'm getting ready to swap my old front drums on my 69 F250 and slap on the stock discs from another F250. It visually looks like it will swap right over, but I've been wrong before.
Are all the 69 F250 8 lug spindles the same? I'm planning on using a "new" rebuild power brake booster from Oreilles.
Am I headed in the right direction, or for disaster?
Thanks
A

You don't need to change the spindles. Unbolt the drum stuff, bolt on the disc stuff. Here's how I did my '69 F250:

Re: Front drum to stock disc swap
Bear in mind that there was a thread on here recently using an early disc brake front end(read 67-72) and that it required 16.5 inch rims(factory but a little difficult for tyres) to clear brake calipers. When we I did my disc conversion on my 67 we used a complete front end from a 75-79 f250. These front ends fit 16 inch rims, parts are probably easy to get. Also with 16s you get much better choice in tyre sizes.
Might be worth thinking about. Also that way you can keep driving your truck until you have built everything up on your bench, then change in your rebuilt later model Front end all in one day. Therefore less downtime for your truck.

Thanks for the heads up Moon.dog62. I'm running 20" wheels on the truck now. I'm hopping they'll be large enough to clear a future rear disc swap for my Dana 60.moon.dog62 wrote:Bear in mind that there was a thread on here recently using an early disc brake front end(read 67-72) and that it required 16.5 inch rims(factory but a little difficult for tyres) to clear brake calipers.
