Power steering question

Post by MAK »

I had found and purchased online a power steering column and related parts quite a while back. I'm finally getting around to installing it and the pulleys I have are obviously for something else. I purchased a new power steering pump bracket last week and just a few minutes ago found the other bracket I had bought back with the column and steering box. Crap!
The Fordification power steering conversion tech article says to get a matching harmonic balancer and pulley. Do I really need to replace the balancer or am I misreading?
Finally, does anyone know what size spacer I need for one of the bolts between the pump bracket and the engine block?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't know about the spacer but the comment about the balancer is just to make sure the pulleys line up. If they do without changing the balancer then you're good.
