kickdown and throttle rod issues w/ upgraded 4bbl carb

Post by kmorrison »

hi guys.

new to the forum. recently put on an edelbrock 1406 carb and 2105 intake on my 390fe 3spd auto.

i'm having a hell of a time with the kickdown and the throttle rod. not even sure if i have all the adapters installed correctly.

to make matters worse i snapped one of the throttle rods and the throttle rod lineup is offset from the adapter running off the carb (as you can see the throttle rod is not currently connected)

the kickdown plate extender is installed but i still don't feel comfortable with it as there is a lot of play.

i've seen a few threads on the form of bending threaded rod and other things but i've a little more keen on getting something that is made specifically for this adaption.

can you guys take a look at the installation and tell me if i installed it correctly and what my options are for the kickdown and throttle rod?

thanks

Looks some what different than the setup on my 390. I found a kick down rod just a tad longer at the local bone yard that worked great as my stock one was a little short and the extension kit was to sloppy. I don't remember what vehicle the kick down was off of, but I do believe it is from the Dark Side. .
