front driveshaft

Post by DDAN1130 »

anyone have any experience rebuilding front drive shafts? I have a 69 F100 and the front drive shaft is really sloppy at the slip yoke and I can't seem to find any parts for them on LMC or any other parts sites. I'm starting to think it may be time for a new one if I can't find the parts??

If your slip yolk is sloppy it's time for a rebuild,if the tube is in good condition a drive line shop should be able to replace the slip yolk and re balance it saving you some cash.......Some shops will do their best to sell you a whole new shaft but it is not necessary,my drive line guy would replace ti others in town wouldn't so if the first shop wont call around before spending more than is truly needed.

thanks Eggman. I have pulled it out and that slip yoke is in pretty terrible shape. I'm waiting on a quote from a local shop now.
