Found some water in the oil so I took off the valve covers, and it had some small surface rust, so I figured I'd break it down all the way ....

that pic has a poor shot, camera lens cover didn't open all the way...here is a cleaner one!

Here is a close up of the surface rust, just on the rockers...all the lifters look good.....will inspect the lower unit when I pull the 2wd pan off to replace it with the 4x4 pan....

Here is a before picture of the 4 barrel intake manifold......I pulled it to put it in the tank.....

And after I cleaned it up....

The block broke down in Ford blue.....

But I think I want to break the mold and try this....

Yep....that Ford Red looks GREAT!!! Especially when I put the repainted Satin Black Mickey Thompson finned aluminum valve covers back on (they are soaking in the solvent tank!)....

Started looking at cleaning the valve covers....here is a before and after shot..


Don't think the Satin Black is done justice on the camera as it is in person
