Anyone have an NP 208F transfer case?

Post by Pegtop »

My 1970 F100 Ranger 4x4 360 has an NP 208F transfer case and I'm wondering if this is common on my year or if someone swapped it in. I'm also trying to figure out the shift pattern on it as the knob was replaced.

Did a little research and found out that my transfer case came out of either a 80-86 Bronco, 80-86 F100/150, 80-86 F250, or 80-86 F350. Would have preferred to have the original in there but it seems to be a decent transfer case nonetheless.

I have to pull the rear seal off and replace it cause it's leaking. Parts store is telling me they need to know which model it came out of to figure out the right seal. Hopefully there's a part number printed on the seal when I pull it. Still don't know the shift pattern on it cause the truck isn't running at the moment so if anyone is familiar with it, please pass it along! Thanks
