1969 TWD F 350 dually. all new drive train. (that's the short list) all new suspension bushings ( yup. every one, I beams and shackles too)
so....
My ride is quite cool and and magically sucked about $9k out of my wallet so far. I love it though. Next thing I want to do is stop. I drive the truck every day as a General Contractor. Yes this is a fully functioning money maker.
My Drums are all rebuilt turned and freshly painted bright red and are working fine but Its my daily work truck and I need to upgrade to Front discs.
How does one go about getting that done?
Are there kits for that with the stock spindle?
Can later model spindles be installed on the stock 69' beams?
Should I buy some chain and an anchor?
Also:
Are external spun aluminum fuel tanks mounted behind the cab under the front section of the flat bed outside the frame rails safer than 12 gallons of fuel behind the seat? Hell if I wanted safe id drive a Volvo. I think I want the massive fireball outside the cab not in it.. after a few seconds It wont matter anyway if it goes boom I guess.
thanks guys.

I believe you can install caliper mounting brackets, calipers and rotors on your current spindles, from a later model truck. HD F250s and F350s should have the caliper bracket you need. You should also upgrade the master cyl to a smaller bore unit for discs and a disc brake combination valve.
I am in the process of making sure this is possible on my F250 that has HD suspension as well. A full suspension and steering linkage swap from a later truck has always been the recommended route.

Thanks for the reply!
Please keep me posted on you progress. I have searched the internet for front conversions but haven't found anything. If you and I can get this done we I will create a new thread here showing the whole process with pictures and details so anyone can do this.

You're welcome.
It's going to be a month or more before i can get it accomplished though. My truck is in the body shop now and i won't have access to it until then. I have the parts ready and waiting until then.
