1967 f100 brake booster problems

I recently bought a 67 f100 came out with 240 originally. Truck has 302 unknown what year. When I bought the truck it had no pedal return on the brake pedal. Took it to local mechanic an they have tried 3 different boosters keep having pedal to rod problems. Truck has drums all four corners but the local parts store guy tells me that my core is for front disc. Parts store sent core off now we have no idea which booster we need any help would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly WHAT is the pedal-to-rod problem?

How about buy or fabbing up an adjustable rod with a coupling nut?

The first rod was too short now the second rod is too long and puts the pedal in a bind.

From what you've stated....sound's like PO already swapped chit out that don't belong
