And the only time it would be up is if I was totin' a grandkid around. In that case it would be safer for them to have the extra height.

From the pics looks like it has a built in seat belt. If you shorten the height it will mess with the height of the 3pt belt if you plan on using that, not good if they pull too low on your shoulder if you really need it.

Good point, 48prerunner. I guess it stays as is. Thanks!

Thanks, John!

I can't believe it's been 6 weeks since I've done anything to speak of on the truck. It's driving me nuts! I hate the winter :x

Nice AC score. Do you have a compressor already? It's been surprising to me how simple the AC systems are on these trucks, not sure it could get any more basic which means it's easy to work on.

No compressor yet. I'll be putting all new compressor, condenser, drier, hoses, etc, not to mention convert to R134. I'm putting in an '86 model 351w and serpentine belts so I'll be using a Sanden style compressor. Aftermarket parts are cheap and plentiful. The evap was the missing piece and I had about resigned myself to spending $600-800 on an AC/heat/defrost aftermarket unit when this baby came along. :D

I believe it will be the 8105 Sanden if you want compatibility on the connections. So the dudes over at cold air products tell me (of course they didn't tell me that), after I found it and checked to see if it would be compatible with aftermarket stuff.

I wish. Life hasn't been bump friendly. Just yesterday something went wrong with my DD. Either driver's CV axle or...booo...transmission. just replaced passenger CV and now the other side messes up. There goes more bump money and bump time. :x Planning on taking a week off work in April and spending quality time with just me and my truck. :D
