draining torque converter c6 trans
Hello, i drained out what i could from the trans pan, about 7Qt's. I would like to drain it all and from what i have read i need to drain the converter from inside bell housing, but looking inside all i can see is the flywheel. Is the drain plug behind the flywheel? Can someone please tell me what i should do to drain all fluid? Also when i put the fluid back in, it should be type F, right? (Cause auto store gave me micron/dexron3). Will the fuild go back into all the places it came out of after adding or maybe running at ideal? Trans is c6 with 360 motor in a 72 ranger. Its a factory setup, no mods. Thanks for all your help. Kevin.

Put a socket and breaker bar on the crank bolt and rotate the motor around until the converter drain plug is visible through the inspection cover. A 7/16" socket is required to remove the drain plug. The drain plug will be located between two of the converter nuts.

Thanks bobby! That worked great, do you know about the other stuff i was wondering about? Fluid type (F?) And putting fluid back in? And will all the fluid come out of converter without doing anything other then draining (I.E running motor, rotating...) sorry for more questions, but dont want to do this again any time soon. Thanks for helping as you always do kevin

Yes converter will drain with the drain plug at 6 o'clock. Make sure your drain pan will hold 8 qts.
I would run Type F.
For refill, add 4 qts., start the engine and add about 8 more qts., check on level ground, idling in park, E-brake applied. Do not overfill.
