Where to buy metal brake line kits?

Post by ajh_71 »

Hey all,

I have been looking around for brake line kits for my 1971 f250 2wd long bed. I need the ones that go from the master cylinder since mine have rusted out. Anyone know where to get them? Thanks alot!!

Take your pick of Classic Tube or Inline Tube.

You oughtta try getting the required tools and bending up your own. It isn't rocket science....The $75 to $100 investment will last a lifetime. Get the fittings and tubing from Speedway Motors.

I had big problems with Classic Tube. I will only order from them again as a last resort. I sent them a set of choke heater tubes from a 1976 F250 to get two sets made. They only sent me one set, but charged me for two. I called them and suggested that instead of a refund I would order a set of brake lines for another truck and I would add $$$ to the credit they owed me. Seemed like a good plan to me and Mike at Classic Tube. Eventually they told me that they didn't have a pattern/CNC pattern to make the lines for a 1967 F100 long box. This dog & pony show went on for several months before we got to the conclusion that they couldn't provide the lines for a very common truck. I was so fed up that I didn't even bother pursuing the initial overcharge for the second set of choke heater tubes that I never received. It was just getting too hard to explain it all to Classic Tube after all the twists & turns in the deal.

One other thing I noticed is that Inline Tube and Classic Tube seemed to have a fairly limited number of models that they supplied lines for. Maybe they have more now than they did 4 years ago. I will have to revisit their websites to see if more models are listed.
