I plan to go with a '70 on my truck. If you want a '67-'69 grille, you'll have to get a used one, or an NOS unit if you can find one. These years aren't being made any more as the original tooling has been destroyed.

I prefer the '67 too...it's got clean simple lines, without any plastic to break or warp.

I have a '72 truck, but I like the look of the '71 grille thats on it now.

1971. You're right about the warping and cracking though.

Without a doubt the '70...and I've had just about every year...I now have a '72 but it's my least favorite grill...but I won't change it....My second fave is a white '67 grill....

I like the 68 the best because of the blacked out part which makes the cross bars float.

I would have to say the best looking grill is the 67. If I could, I would find a good steal one and then have it chromed. I've got a 68 grill on one of my trucks, but it has some parts of the bars removed. I'm thinking of fixing it and chroming it.

Speaking of grills, which years/models are inter-changeable? My 72 F250 grill is about toast and wondering what other years would work. Thanks.

Here is what Keith says:

*

Grille - All '67-'72 F100 thru F350 grilles will interchange as an assembly, though each year is cosmetically different. Grilles were available in polished aluminum or painted steel. (Click here for pictures of the various grille styles.)
o

1970 grille shells are a one-year-only item...the '70 grille inserts are too narrow to fit into the '71-'72 shells. The '71-'72 grille shells and inserts will interchange with each other.
o

There are two styles of headlight doors: '67-'69 and '70-'72. The two styles are not interchangeable.
