Now I did both Disc and booster upgrade on my 68 f100. I decided to go a different route this time on booster option. I went full oem (stock parts).
Here's a link to my thread:
http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 78#p647378
Take a look, ( read all the part # details) I did this because I want to try the oversize booster. plus every thing i needed kinda fell into my lap and was cheap. But if the oem booster doesn't meet my expectations I'll be buying that universal booster or one like it.

Marvin, ultra ranger is spot on. Especially with fitment issues. If $ not an option, or you want to try and eliminate the possibility of doing any modifications. Then hit the junk yards and find the correct bracket, buy the correct remand booster cor your bracketa And the right MC for your booster. And slap her on there.ultraranger wrote:The choice of any owner to use OEM parts or aftermarket is obviously up to the individual. Aftermarket boosters vary in size, construction, fit, quality, output, reliability and performance. All aftermarket parts are not created equal for a particular application --but all OEM parts are. It's just up to you what you want to go with.

But remember any project u do will run into problems that might need some modifications. For example I found an older thread on here about a guy who used the same oem parts I did and ran into problems with the oem MC not fitting his oem booster. Remand parts are not created equal either. All up to u.
Anyway I've blabbed on here long enough. If u got any questions just ask

Re: Power Drum Brakes
Lots of good information here guys. Thanks! I have OEM brackets and front discs. I'll probably go with a booster, m/c, combination valve combo from one of the resto places. Marvin, keep us updated on what you figure out.
