Re: power stearing real touchey
As in racing, the diagnosis is only as good as the driver's feedback. What do you mean by too touchy? Does the steering wheel turn freely or is it difficult to turn? Is there no slop in the steering (truck responds immediately to steering inputs)? Too much slop in the steering (does the truck not immediately turn when you turn the wheel)? Did anything change on the front end alignment? Why did you change spindles for power steering? Need much more info....

Re: power stearing real touchey
Unfortunately; that's how the F100 PS is. As you turn the wheel; the Ford pump flows too much pressure too quickly and causes some twitchy steering. Some are going to GM pumps which have a gradual flow upon turning. We are use to today's rack and pinion steering that is very predictable. These Ford trucks were meant for low speed driving and not so quick maneuvers.
I've seen a couple of PS kits being offered now for our trucks that use GM pumps.

I don't know anything about these GM variable output pressure power steering pumps, it's just what popped up when I did a web search on variable power steering. If you're interested in checking further into it, to see if it could possibly be adapted, the pumps are listed in link below.
