Shift Linkage Levers 3 speed column

Post by Art Vandelay »

Is it possible to remove the shift linkage levers on a 3 speed manual column? I plan on converting my '70 F100 to automatic with floor shifter.

Yes, it is. You will have to remove your steering shaft from the bottom of the column, slide the shift tube up, by unbolting the tube flange, and then you can slide them out. It's a lot easier with the column out.

Yes. Start by removing with the rag joint then pull back on column from inside cab slowly. A second person might come handy so you can slip the levers off column shaft as they pull back on cloumn
