Lately, now that I have sold my other truck and need the F100 as a DD, there's a knocking sound coming from the back of the truck in gear while the brakes are pushed ( at a stoplight) and you can feel it sometimes in the brake pedal. Once the truck gets over 5mph it stops. My axle seal on the passenger side is still leaking so I thought it might be low on fluid. Yesterday I topped off the axle oil and it continues. What could the sound be coming from? U joints, brakes, axle, or something loose?
Thanks

Re: Knocking Sound
Sounds like your exhaust is hitting the frame/axle/body somewhere. get under there and follow the exhaust back and see if it wiggles enough to hit something...

Re: Knocking Sound
If I were you I would get that axle seal fixed ASAP. It doesn't cost a lot, and you are going to ruin your brakes, risk messing up your rear end, and on top of that it makes it hard to troubleshoot things when you have a known problem. It also is a safety hazard. With these old brake systems you want as much brake as you can get.
