question on master cylinder

Post by chuky »

hi everybody, so i spent about 5 hour at the junk yard taking parts off a 1977 f100 for my 1969 f100 swb took power steering, pump, brackets, pulleys also complete i beams with spindles and everything that attaches to i beam except for shocks, line brackets and distribution valve no brake lines or hoses since i,m going to buy them new.
my question is can i use the manual master cylinder and just add a power booster or do i need a complete set? didn't take that off because it look very rusty and not in good shape. thank you for the help

There is a proportioning valve needed for the disc brakes. I also believe you need the master cylinder.

You'll need a disc-specific MC. Calipers require more fluid to operate than wheel cylinders -that's why the rear reservoir in disc/drum systems has more volume.

You'll need the line brackets from the Dentside...70 & earlier rigs aren't compatible because the hoses are oriented differently.

Some pics of my 70 build to visualize...
