Lousy cold weather!! Enjoy the truck therapy, just what the doctor ordered!

Hope the stress levels drop soon too. I always like the line "Don't take life too seriously, or you'll never get out of it alive"

Re: '70 Sport Custom Rebuild - Just a little more

Post by sargentrs »

A little bump therapy today. Wanted a little more than just the standard brackets so started on my seat frame today. Mounts for the Mustang buckets and foundation for a console and speakers mounted under the edge/side of the seats. One of the little perks of working in a fab shop. :D Got some fine tuning to do and then weld it solid.

Here's how the seat frame is going to sit/mount on the cab floor. Just gotta drill the holes, dress the welds and get it painted and that part will be ready. Bits and pieces, pieces and bits....

Off for the week and a little bump therapy. Not getting as far as I'd like but making a little progress. Got the steering column painted
mms_img2131827544.jpg
and painted the door frames.
mms_img-817516684.jpg
Why didn't I do that when I painted the interior, you ask?.....Because I'm an idiot! Totally slipped my mind so I spent two hours masking to keep from getting overspray all over the interior. Also got the holes drilled in the bottom of the seat frame and made sure those would line up. Going to TN tomorrow to spend the day with my daughter and granddaughter so nothing will get done but I'll come back in high spirits  Next up, sound deadener and insulation.

Everytime I look at this build here lately a quote of yours comes to mind Randy.Mrs Ryan asked you at the meet and greet in Sevierville what color you wanted to eventually paint it. Your reply was polite but funny. Looks like she is going to have a nice skirt on........ROFL

Looks great Randy! I just may catch you yet! :D I'm getting close to shooting the cab bottom in order to then mount it back onto the frame for good. Then, I will be painting the inside and door jambs (together! ) hopefully along with the inside of the doors so I can mount them for good as well (on rebuilt hinges). I'm going to try some of this in the door seams to prevent any hard tape lines to rework later...

I'm fighting like mad to get the entire cab and doors painted before winter so I can slowly and meticulously assemble the interior and doors with my big box of new seals, rubber, weatherstripping, anti-rattle kits, etc. over the winter. The plan then is to finish the front clip and bed in the spring. Anyway, I hope we keep each other motivated and keep plugging away! Great work and keep at it Randy!

Thanks, Patrick! You're build's looking really good too and your body work is much better than mine. What does that foam tape do? Blend the edges so they don't leave a hard edge to sand down? I've got a little touch up to do and that would be cool.
