Brake booster question...

I am looking to add power brakes to my stock drums on a 1968 F100 Ranger.
Do I just need to add a booster to my current set-up to make "power" brakes?
If so, what year and type of booster will work best?
Original type booster, or a newer booster?
Any special brackets for the newer booster?
I am currently looking in salvage yards and I see a factory 1968 booster, and some newer models... (1970-1973)
Can anyone advise in detail, please?

if you have a 1968 and see a 1968 booster - grab it - along with the brackets - they are the hard bit to work - at worst - you can use it as a core.

Here is the other one but not sure what year or motor size...

It's all to do with the connecting rod to the pedal and the switch - which is why i said grab the 68 - you know it will fit.

I just found out that the brake booster that I purchased (Pictured in this thread) is from a 1967 F100.
I haven't installed it yet.
Can anyone tell me for sure it will fit my 1968 F100 before I go through the trouble of trying to install the wrong one?
