See the part that is gold the evo or whatever its called. what happens if you take it off ? or even just modify it with a bfh

It wants to be in the same space as my oil filter.

What engine is being installed? Have you considered installing an oil filter adapter? Some adapters just rotate the filter to a different angle. Some rotate the filter to another angle plus, are plumbed for lines to run to an engine oil cooler.

You might find something in this ebay link that might work for your application.

...last weekend at the local scrap metal yard, I picked up a factory aluminum oil filter adapter, braided lines and the engine oil cooler, for my truck, from an '87 Ford E-350 Super Duty chassis cab that had a 460 in it. This oil filter adapter will fit all 240, 300, 302, 5.0L, 351W, 5.8L, 351C, & 429 engines. I gave less than $10 bucks for all the components.

Thanks I could go with a shorter filter which I'm trying this morn. I could also get ford racing's 90* adapter but it's another $100. I pulled the adapter off a 4.0 explorer motor that I think would work. It would rotate it the 90* but unlike the FRPP one I would have to unscrew the oil filterbung for lack of a better term and then thread in the bolt from explore adapter, something I didn't want to do on a brand new crate motor. The FRPP adapter just screws over the filter threads.

I was just hoping because we dont use the evo and I know some of the 2008 CVPI up racks did not come with it I could figure out how to take it off or maybe go with the newer rack without one.

The part with the plug just pops off, the shaft that remains is threaded in. my guess is you could cut the shaft off.
