Wow, that's a lot of work! I wish I had the skills and space to do what you're doing.
Those pics are helping me out too, trying to figure out where my water leaks are coming from. Do you have a better one of the cab, showing the seams under where the cowl was? Mine leaks at the corners of the firewall and dash/cowl seam near where the wires go through. I'm trying to see how they overlap, and if I need to get inside the cowl or not.

I'll post some pics up this week, see if I can help you out with that. Do you mean the seam at the bottom of the cowl?

Re: 1967 F-100 project
After a few double check measurements to be sure the 79 dash will fit, I went ahead and removed the 68 dash out of the cab.Went pretty easy, since most of the spot welds had already been drilled when I removed the cowl. There are two brackets on the inside lower corners, that the dash is welded to, that hold the lower corners of the dash. They will have to be removed, since the 79 has a 2 piece dash, and the outer section bolts to the side of the kick panel. I'll have to drill a hole, and weld a nut to the back side of the kick panel for that.
All of the back side of the firewall will be sandblasted to remove any rust, and to prepare it for expoxy primer.

Sorry, I didn't see your post before. My truck is leaking at the top corners of the firewall, where it meets the cowl. I believe that is considered the bottom of the cowl. I'm trying to figure out how all of the metal comes together at that spot and if I can get to it to reseal it. If you don't have the pics, its ok.

All 3 peices, the cowl, firewall, and wall under the cowl are spot welded together. I'll snap a few photos tonight of it, without the cowl on, so you can see what it looks like.

yeah! i'm excited for this as well, now that my floor is por-15 and slightly less porous, the rainwater accumulation under the accelerator pedal in the corner there is more noticeable.
Replacing my windsheild and new gasket helped a ton, but there is still a good amount of water coming in.

Here are a few pics I took of the corners, where the cowl meets the fire wall. Other than the cowl, there are 2 pieces of metal that come together on top of the firewall, and then the firewall joint has sealant behind it, in the cab.guhfluh wrote:Sorry, I didn't see your post before. Got the dash from the 79 trimmed and initially fitted. I'll have to do some more work with the hammer and dolly on the flange that weld to the lower windsheild frame.

Pat - this is awesome. I feel like I'm watching it through fogged-up ski goggles, but it's still awesome.
Great work buddy, keep it up!

Re: 1967 F-100 project
Quick update. Finally got the front axle out of the 79 parts truck. Blasted off the crud, and got it partiallly broke down. I'll get the hubs, rotors, and spindles off, then give it a good final cleaning, before POR-15 and Chassis Black paint.

Man, it took FOREVER to get the spindles off this thing! Soaked them for days, then heated, beated, heated, beated, sweated, beated, soaked, sweated heated, and finally, off they came! Now, just have to press the ball joints out of the spindles.

Re: 1967 F-100 project
Spent several hours this week drilling spot welds, and finally got the panel off around the rear window. It was worth the effort, lots of surface rust behind there, and now I can remove some dents in the roof that I couldn't get access to before.
