ok i have a np435 and im putting in a 3+1 toploader and i need to swap the inputshafts cuz the one is a gm input shaft so i took the 4 bolts off the bearign cover then took the lock rign off and then the biig ring around the bearing caseing and expected to pull it right out but its not < thats off the np 435 i expect them to be the same there tho what shoudl i do o what did i miss??

Are you sure that they interchange.
To get the input out you have to pull the countershaft out so the gears
underneath can drop down. When you do that, all the rollers fall out.

You CAN'T remove input shafts like you are trying. It don't work that way.

More likely they are not the same inside(gear teeth count) and won't work anyway(even if you got them apart).

As long as the length of the shafts are the same, along with pilot bearing diameter...then all you need to change is the clutch disc to match the spline count.

Just so you know...that little ring you removed off the front bearing keeps the bearing from going IN the case any farther. It registers against the face of case and then the retainer bolts tight against it to hold bearing stationary.
