Re: 69 f-600 14' dump to f-100 short bed
I like that idea... I have a couple bolts in front of my mustang tank that aren't really going to be accessible. Those would be perfect. The ones I have with my totally stainless kit I bought are 4 and 5 inches.

Re: 69 f-600 14' dump to f-100 short bed
Yeah if your tank ends up like my tank the bolt hole near the front of the tank would be impossible to get to with box frame, pretty hard to get to now with the tank in. My only thought just this morn was I planned to put clips in and then just a notch big enough for the clip, but if bolt seizes I wouldn't be able to get a new clip in if need so will have to big enough to pass nut through also.
I'm still hung up on tranny crossmember location. Maybe I'll see if I can borrow a modular block to set in to see where it ends up or I could go with something like this.
I could run tubes through frame to prevent crush, but still would have to wait for a measurement so I don't dimple that spot, or if I go under frame I could dimple hole that spot so I could drop bolts in. O well off to finish up disc brake rear my longer t-bolts came in.

Re: 69 f-600 14' dump to f-100 short bed
I just got some of these bed bolts and clips off of ebay. I have a '69 Mustang tank too and won't be able to reach two of the stock bed bolt nuts. I plan on using a little anti-seize but most likely will never have to remove them anyway.

Re: 69 f-600 14' dump to f-100 short bed
I posted over in the superduty section on another forum and they said what they do is tons of anti seize and one guy even tapped the clips, He lives in NJ and was able to unscrew his a year later, but from what I read the bolts cut the threads in the clips so that's why they seize. Used ford and new dorman price are the same around $45. over on other forum guy is a dealer does conversions a little more expensive for the 8 bolt set about $42 plus 10 ship or $31 6 bolt same 10 ship. I'm hoping I'm happy with my leaf spring rear if not bed comes back off for 4 link this winter.
Ok so updated info superduty bolts are 14mm so 9/16' this is the price and measurement for new ford bolts plus like $10 ship
W714264*S900 = 4.5" ($5.75 each)
W714263*S900 = 5.25" ($5.05 each)
W714262*S900 = 5.5" ($5.15 each)
Nuts W708770*S436 $2.85 each
So I'm thinking about getting 6 of the short ones as my short stock bolts are about 2.75"

I picked up a full set of new take offs for $45 + free shipping. The nuts appear to be tapped in the photos but if not, I'll run a tap through them to smooth them up. Maybe they look that way because they've already been cut with the bolts. Anyway, I'll find out soon enough.

Getting a lot done need to find time to post up pic, but trying to decide do I paint the center section stock like that primer brown/red or do I go fancy and do the black metallic to match my sway bar and caliper brackets

Re: 69 f-600 14' dump to f-100 short bed
Got the tube bender out so I could make cross members to clear exhaust.
I originally c notched the stock cross member that goes between cab mounts but didn't like how it looked so bent up a new one from tube.
