Squealing noise from clutch
I've got a 67 4x4 with a manual 4 speed. When it sits for a couple weeks, the first couple times I engage the clutch cold, it squeals when fully disengaged(clutch petal to floor) then stops once you engage it. Thoughts? Seems to stop when warm.

Good chance your throwout bearing is going bad. If you have to replace it, might as well replace the pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, transmission input & output seals and have the flywheel resurfaced, while you have it all apart.

If your T.O. bearing has a zerk fitting, you can sneak in from the dust boot and grease the bearing.

This is true. He can try that but it will likely be a short lived fix before it's back. If the bearing is squealing, the damage has already been done...BobbyFord wrote:If your T.O. bearing has a zerk fitting, you can sneak in from the dust boot and grease the bearing.
I went through this last year with my '03 Mustang Mach 1. While I had the Tremec TR3650 5-spd. out to replace the throwout bearing, I went ahead and replaced the pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, trans input/output seals & had the flywheel resurfaced. What a PITA to get that transmission out! I didn't want to have to go back a few months later to replace the other parts so while it was out, I replaced it all. Hopefully, I won't have to fool with it for another 10 years.
