Transmission switch..70 f100
My shifting has been really screwed up lately. For example not letting me shift in or out of second I asked a friend who knows some stuff and he thinks it's internal. If I had to get a swap would these work? Btw I have a 70 f100 w/ 240 c4

These shifters will not solve your problem if the linkage is coming apart inside your trans. OR , is your column linkage causing your concern?
Your post does not supply enough info for me to make an informed opinion. RE-post with EXACTLY what is happening & when...
Don't be afraid to explain in detail......there are plenty of trans men on here to help you, but we need specifics..........
If you think that it is internal, drop the pan........your linkage is right there.........Donnie

There's not really specific times this happens. It's mostly random. It mostly happens after I've been driving a bit and I stop at a stop sign or something and speed back up then go to second (or try) and it won't allow me to go into second Then ill go back out into first if I can't get it into second and try once again and it usually works the second and if not it will on the third attempt It doesn't grind or anything it just won't let me go into second and rarely out of

Not sure about the C4 but I had a similar issue with my 3 spd manual. Turned out my shift lever (where the linkage rod connects to the shift lever on the outside of the transmission) had the nut backed off. This let the lever move around on the shift rod and randomly hang up. Have you had someone shift it, not running of course, while you laid under the truck and watched the linkage for binding/slipping? Same exercise with the levers at the bottom of the steering column?

Nate, your original post says that you have a C4 trans, but you question's indicate to me that you are driving a standard shift trans???????????
OR, does your C4 have a "full manual valve body"...I'm confused..............Don
A C4, you just put it in D & the shifts are automatic...I'm sure that you know that, but I don't understand your question.......Donnie

It is a c4 but my dad. Before he left changed the linkage or something to transfer it to a stick. I'm lost. It's been giving me many shifting problems lately
