1974 ford f100 240 3 speed on column

Post by gregamorton »

Guys yall have any idea on my setup if it uses a 10" or 11" clutch? I bought one for my 300 3 speed OD from a place on ebay and they are super cheap and a direct manufacture. I know it needs to be 10 spline 1 1/16 but the 10" or 11" is whats throwing me off. I dont want to tear down till i have every thing to replace. Thanks for the help in advance!

There is some funky crap with Ford truck pressure plates before the 1980's. Some flywheels have 42 different bolt patterns in them, some have one. I make a lot of flywheels. The Ford ones I make only use the modern (80's+) pressure plate patterns because the old stuff is so goofy.

Usually you can easily measure the clutch size through the dust cover opening.

here is the fellow that I bought my last kit from for the 300 OD 3speed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mercury-10 ... 2e987a0a9c I will call when I figure out the size. I would not mind buying a flywheel at the same time. Now that you said that I believe my 300 flywheel had 3 sets of holes for different pressure plates.
