NP435 to T19 Transmission Swap Help

Post by SRSslpr »

Hello all. I am currently working on swapping my NP435 for a t19 transmission. I have a SWB 68 f100 with a 351w in it. I am running into a snag with the driveshaft. The NP435 had a slip yoke which allowed a single piece driveshaft (what I currently have). Also, my current NP435 seems to have an extended tail housing on it. The t19 that I have has a short tailshaft and a fixed yoke. With the fixed yoke I won't be able to use a single piece driveshaft and will need a longer driveshaft. My question is has any one done this swap before and what driveshaft setup did you use? If someone has done this swap where did you purchase your new drive shaft? I believe my new driveshaft will need to be 61 inches in length. Thanks in advance.

I have done a simlar swap, took 3 speed out and put np 435 in, the 3 speed had slip yoke and np 435 had fixed yoke. My truck was a long bed so I had no problem finding a 2 peice drive shaft for it.
You may have to have one made with the slip yoke in the drive shaft something like this

Someone else may have some better infomation for ya, but I think it will have to be made for your truck.
