Does anybody know this?

Post by Drednme »

In my Dana 24 transfercase does anybody know what the machined end spec is supposed to be on the input shaft, the part number in the exploded view is 7017. I have found only 2 tranfercases and I can't get either one for less than 450. So I think I am going to try have the end machined down and a repair bushing made. The only time the bearing rotates is when you are in low range, and I can't remember the last time I needed that, but with winter here I need it back to driveable shape, and the slop between those two shafts is the only thing really keeping it down.

Dude, that is a real good question.

Have you thought about replacing the D24 with a NP205 T-Case?

I still have a NP 435 and married 205 that I would let the whole shebang go for the $150 I have into it. Pulled from a junker-condition unknown.
