Ramps work great. Since we only have 8' ceilings in the shop, putting in a lift was not an option.

I didn't get as much done last week as I had hoped. I took the transmission to a shop and had it rebuilt.

I removed the rear end.

I moved the spring perches and shock mounts on the 73 rear end and got it back in.

This is the jig i made to line up the spring perches on the longer rear end. Thanks to the tech pages. Great idea.

The rear end is back in but I did not get a picture yet.

Great work! Love the stance. Love the ramps too! I will be starting on my 'new' 1970 too here very soon! :thup:

Well, I managed to get the transmission back in without getting any pictures. It is back on the ground and ready to get inspected.

I took the helper spring out to lower the back end a little more but I will definitely need to notch the frame.

The wider rear end looks better for sure. How close are you to the bump stops? are you bottoming out on them?

The are really close. Probably a 1/4".

That is close. I'm considering the dream beams for the front and hanger flip for the rear. Would it be wise to leave the helper spring? I only thought they were about a 1/2" thick?

It probably needs it. It gives the truck a little more load capacity. I think it dropped the rear another 1 or 1 1/2 inches after taking it out.

I took some other pictures of the side of the truck but they were a little dark due to it sitting in the shade. but here is a good pic of the rear tire moved out with the wider rear end. I think it looks much better.

Anything that's going in the opposite direction of tearing it apart is always good...looks great! That looks like a nice parts hanger! I wish I had another garage stall to transform into a paint booth.

Those were left over from a back yard canopy. They work pretty good.

Its been a while but I am back on it. I managed to get the cab from the 68 primed so I could bring in the 70 and get it taken apart.

I also pulled out everything in the dash except for the wiper motor. This weekend I should have the bed and cab off and be ready to go on the suspension and frame.
