Hey y'all!!
I was replacing my u joints with a matched pair from Advance when I noticed, after I got it pressed in, that the rear of the shaft takes a smaller size u joint than the front. Not in bearing O.D., but in overall length. It is about an 1/8 or 3/16 inch smaller. Can not locate the correct size. Are they supposed to be the same or different?

Re: different size u joints
Most of the bigger joints used on these trucks are Spicer #1330 while the smaller joints are 1310. There is also a conversion joint out there to convert 1310 to 1330.
Over 40+ years, transmissions, axles, and driveshafts can get switched around and quite interesting.
