Correct flywheel for 5.0 swap
Does anyone know what the correct flywheel will be for swapping in a late model 5.0 with my 3 speed column shift. I know it will be the 50 oz flywheel but how many teeth and what size. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

Re: Correct flywheel for 5.0 swap
You probably just need to match the tooth count with what is in there now if you are using the same tranny and starter.

Does anyone have any idea. I haven't removed the old one yet so I can't count it.

Should be 164 tooth. Find one from a truck with 50oz imbalance, which I think started in '81 and get the clutch for same application.

Re: Correct flywheel for 5.0 swap
I just did this same swap you need a 164 tooth 50 oz imbalance flywheel. I went to the parts store and got a flywheel for a 85 f150 manual w/ 302 and thats the correct one. I also had to change the clutch to a 10 inch the original 11 inch would not fit the new flywheel.
