Hey guys,
I am replacing the transmission pan on my c4, and all I've been able to find is pans with the "bump out" on the corner where the dipstick tube goes in. The mating surface on the bottom of my transmission is completely square.
Could someone please tell me what the purpose of this "bump out" is?
Thanks a lot,
Brandon

Re: c4 transmission pan
Ok I think I figured it out. Someone please give me a thumbs-up or thumbs-down.
The pan sealing surface is square on a pan-fill transmission. The case-fill tranny has the bump-out to accomodate the hole for the dipstick tube, shown below.
Accurate?
Thanks a lot,
Brandon
