1970 C6 Linkage to Carb

Hi everybody,

Is there some linkage from the carb to the C6 transmissions? A schematic out on this site I believe shows that? If so, why is it there? Purpose?

It is your kick down linkage for passing gear, it operates a valve in the trans to give you 2nd gear. A lot of guys omit this control & just pull the shift lever for 2nd gear...This will give you 2nd gear, but you are missing some xtra holding power to the 2nd gear band....Donnie
