Does anyone know the name or description of the rubber boot that surrounds the throwout bearing? I'm working on a 1967 F100 2wd V8. Thanks!!! :fr:

:yt: because the throwout bearing is by the clutch. I believe most folks call them a CV? :hmm:

Steve,

I learn something new every day it still seems. I'd always heard them called "CV joints" way...before any front wheel drive vehicles were even produced. It seems they are called "center support" by the manufacturer. I'd seen one or two guys here replace them "in house" but I'd always let my driveline shop do it as they have to be pressed on as far as I know, (as well as each being different sizes):
