Rumblin

Post by Steeda300 »

Hey guys,

I just recently noticed that when my truck is over speeds of about 50mph it sounds like im intermittently going over a rumble strip. It seems to increase in vibrations as i go faster. What could this be? Also if im at those speeds and I put the car in neutral it seems to go away. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Well, by deduction it's a driveline vibration since, according to your statement, it "seems" to go away in neutral.

YOUR FIRST STEP IS TO DO SOME TROUBLESHOOTING LIKE A REAL TECHNICIAN. I hope posting up wasn't your first step. Have some skin in the game - get on your back, crawl under your rig, and do a visual and wiggle inspection for broken engine mounts; tranny mounts; loose u-joints, broken welds on crossmember, etc.

Rant over. Good luck.
