Converting 3 speed to automatic trans

Post by Mach428 »

1969 F250 360 - I have a 3 on the tree and was thinking of converting to a C6. Has anyone done this and what different parts will I need besides of course the tranmission, converter, flex-plate. Is there a difference in trans cross member; speedo cable; drive-shaft?

Can the 3speed column be converted to auto?

I can tell you that your existing crossmember will work. I went from a four speed to my C-6 with no issues involving the crossmember. Hopefully someone else can pipe in here with the other answers.
