3spd light duty

Post by max03 »

What's everyone doing as far as replacing the gaskets on the 3spd light duty trans? I'd like to find a kit and call it a day verses relying on silicone.

I've got a role of gasket material myself and suppose that would be just as good, so the light duty 3spd is also referred to as a "top loader"? It never fails that I learn Somthing new every log in here on fordification:) thanks guys.

Toploader refers to the manner in which the guts are loaded into the case and where the cover is. Others are called "sideloader" because the cover is on the side. Some of the transmissions of the 80'-90's and into the current designs are still referred to as top loaders/side loaders.
