Will a C4 from a LWB not work in a SWB?

Post by Erikf100 »

I am swapping out my C4 from a LWB with bolt on yoke with the 2 piece drive shaft to my SWB with a single drive shaft. Is this not a simple swap. I was reading where you can't just swap them. I am having the C4 rebuilt is there a way to change the tailhousing for this swap. I am really not wanting to go on a trans hunt especially this close to dropping the cash to get the this C4 rebuilt.

Erik,
I believe that on the C-6 you have to change the entire output shaft and tail housing to do this-but I'm not sure about the C-4. Maybe Bobby or Donnie or one of the other guys that knows our slushboxes will pipe in here soon.

I got my answer finally after a lot of hard work. Yeah my c4 won't work. So now I am going to upgrade the 3ott to a c6 with the slip yoke. Hey basketcase do you remember what flywheel you used in yours. Mine is the 157 with zero balance and jegs has the c6 with a 164.

Erik,
I documented the flywheel I used in my build thread, but can't remember it right now-not enough coffee yet!
