transmission vaccum

Post by irpurty »

i have a 1973 f100 with a 302 and a c-4 transmission... there are two vaccum lines hooked to the transmission... one goes directly to the intake manifold, the other, for some reason is hooked to a worn out egr valve... is this right? i thought these were two things that both needed vaccum and shouldn't be hooked to each other (the transmission and the egr valve) ... where is the second vaccum line from the transmiision supposed to go? and doesn't the egr valve need some strong vaccum going to it, or does it create vaccum??? any help would be appreciated... the truck runs fairly well i just want it to be right

Is the diagram on the internet? Can you post a link to the diagram?

Thanks,
