Place for factory wiring

I found this place and you can buy wire by the foot.

If you look down the list it has ford factory correct wiring to replace wiring on our trucks.

That way it would look stock instead of just adding another red,blue,green,or yellow wire under the hood.

Well, that's one hurdle I've already defeated. I used a universal Painless harness. Everything is all wired up! Here's a really bad picture of when I was still wiring it up...



Do you notice the updated style fuse block? It puts my mind at ease to see more than a handful of fuses on the system. Plus, I can add power windows, locks, a/c, power antenna, 3rd brake light, cargo light, and elect. fuel pump.

Did you take plenty of pictures so we can all see how easy it was? A rewiring writeup would be helpful here.

I did take several pictures, but the only camera I had was a camera-phone. The quality is not that great and it doesn't show too much that would help, just big nests of wires everywhere. I can take a few better quality pics of exposed parts now to include.

It was fairly painless, but very, very time consuming. I can do a write up on it along with the Mustang tank install write up.

One quick tip, you need to retain all of your Factory Ford pigtails. The only new, replacement pigtail I could find was for the ignition switch. That was from a company based in Canada. You will still need a wiring diagram for your specific model year also. They don't make a Ford specific application, so a universal harness is required.

I just got a 12circuit painless fuse block that I will be adding to my truck. My harness is good, I just plan on adding air, electric fan, power windows, shaved door handles, xm radio, cd changer, so I don't wanna overload the poor little fuseblock or have all kinds of taps going to existing fuses.

I will take pictures once I start. You can find very good deals on ebay for new painless fuseblocks. I got mine for 65 bucks.. sells for 90 on summint or jegs forget which I checked.

HELLO To all, i found a co. in pa. called ron francis with complete wireing kits, also send for a catalog or call and talk to the oner about your needs. I have seen alot of kit's installed at shows and i see this co. more then pain less. ron fraincis .com We are almost ready to do this so any input would be helpfull .Any surprise other than plugs from old harness?
