Re: cummins swap 67 f250
I think A fellow member here had a 6bt on top a dana44hd for awhile and it held it. But I think even that was temporary. I dont know if id put that weight on a small knuckle 44. Ultimately I think its a good idea to go to a bigger axle, springs and get power steering to reek the full benefits from your swap. others members with first hand knowledge should chime in if im off base on this. Ive been pondering doing the swap in my crew cab.

Re: cummins swap 67 f250
Can you be more specific?
Are you asking if you bolt a 5.9 Cummins to a T18 (should have an NP435 btw), D24 and D44/D60 axles if it will work?
The answer to that would be not really. It would be a huge waste of your time and make the truck somewhat useless.
If you change the plan a little to include an overdrive transmission and a mated transfer case your end result starts looking much better.
If you're just putting around empty with a 100% stock 160 HP 12 valve a Dana 60 rear axle will hold up fine. If you plan to tow anything it will fail rapidly.
You can easily be unaware that you're putting a continuous 500 lb/ft of torque through the rear axle while towing up a grade.
A 44 front axle will support the weight, but like said above, the small knuckle axles weren't really up to the job to begin with so plan for something else if you're going to use the truck.
