1972 to '79 4x4 Running gear

I have a '72 F-100 2x4 with a spotless body. I also have a 1979 F-150 4x4 with a junk body, but great drivetrain.

Will the '72 F-100 Cab, Clip and box all fit without too many issues???

Or should I look for a 67-72 4x4 chassis.......

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I`m no expert but depends on what you classify as to much work. Biggest thing is how to mount box. 79 has 37" frame 72 has 32" frame. Also wheelbase will be 2" longer (you won`t notice unless someone is REALLY good at pointing that out). I`m turning my dads 72 2wd into a 70 4wd but that is slightly easier = drill some holes in the cab and it mounts. I would do it.

Ok, thanks, BP. I wasnt sure. I have a guy that wants the '79. I was going to off it and find a 67-72 running gear, which arent as plentiful here in rustland (Michigan)
