Thanks Jerry! Na, I'm getting new rims. My friend made that steering wheel at work one day. The "suicide knob" is from an old welding fixture we had laying around. I can push and pull the frame, Flinstone style, while standing behind the crossmember and steer it at the same time.

Thanks Charlie! Now I can roll it in and out of the garage as needed to work on the cab. My wife will only let me have half of the garage  If I cross the invisible line and she can't get her car pulled in out of the rain, she gets irritable

Speaking of the cab, I started gutting it today. Pulled the heater box, controls, radio, defrost vents, parking brake pedal, glove box and headliner. Then I went to work pulling the wiring harness out. What a PITA! So I got it all out and piled it up on the garage floor (wife's not home :D ). I was sitting there on my stool, taking a smoke break, staring at the pile of plugs, switches and wire, when it hit me....OMG! What have I done!? Guess I'll be buying a new harness now 'cause there's no way I'm going to get that mass of spaghetti figured out again.

On to phase 2. Engine's at the builder's waiting on another grand to complete. Before I get it, I need to have somewhere to put it and a way to start it up occasionally to keep it limber. So I'll need to get my cab prepped and primered and new cab mount bushings, inner fenders primered to hold the battery, solenoid and other things, radiator support blasted and painted, new mount bushings and a new radiator. That way, when I get the engine, I can just drop it in, mount the cab, set the radiator support and inner fenders, install the radiator, hook everything up and start it up and run it every now and then while I work on other things. At least that's the plan

Thanks SVT! I'd rather work on her than do just about anything else. Unfortunately, that doesn't pay the bills. Work related crap severely cramps my bump time.

Randy, looking awesome, congrats on the progress and milestone! The body work will get daunting, but don't let it get you down. And don't let the wire harness intimidate you, they actually are pretty simple assemblies.

Keep it up, man!

Thanks Tyler! I'm be following your lead. Yeah, I think I'll be better off with a new harness anyway. Not enough circuits in the old for what I want to add on.

So got just about everything out of the cab and came to the moment of truth. Pulled out the full floor rubber mat and  , looks like I'll be replacing some sections of floor pans. :x They're not totally gone but there's a couple of rusted through spots about the size of a quarter and the surrounding areas are flaky and a little thin. About a 12" square on both sides. Rats!

 .... Hang in there buddy. Jeff just helped me out with a headlight problem that required me flipping the mat up and checking the dimmer switch. If you want to do a bulk order let me know. Would have sworn mine wasnt that bad.

Yeah, me too Charlie. Unfortunately, the worst is in the area where the pans have those embossed dimples. Since I work in a fab shop and have access to any sheet metal I could ever want I could just grab some scrap and patch at will. However, those pans have a curve/contour to them and I think just slapping a flat piece in there wouldn't look right so I'll buy some repop's from DC.

Randy,
Glad to see your staying on track with doing your build right man! And don't forget to check the cowl area as well as the lower kick panel vent area for debris and cleanliness. I found mine just in time as they were both full of leaf debris over the years and had rotted to a "worm dirt" type crap that was starting the rust in mine.
Charlie, what we need to do is to get Jerry a weekend deer quota hunt down here. Then once he gets here, we could put his expert body work skills to work!

Great idea Jeff! We've got some big one's in Georgia too. He could come down here, get him a big one, and help me with my cab too. :D

Thanks Rich! I appreciate the encouragement.
