Hey Dan, sorry for the lack of info. We are in the middle of trying to sell our house right now, so the cab had to go into storage, to "pretty up" the garage for potential buyers. We are hoping to get a house we fell in love with, that has land big enough for me to put a shop on. Hopefully this won't take much longer, it's a pain living like this, trying to keep the house ready, with 3 kids and 2 dogs in it!!

Wow what a mess that has to be good look with it, and we will wait impatiently till your going again!! Good luck with your house sale, and purchase :thup:

If we don't sell by April, the plan is to move the cab out to my Mother-in-laws place, to the machine shop, so I can continue on. It's a pain having to drive all the way out there to work, but it's better than nothing!

A little progress. I've contacted a company in Scottsdale,AZ, called Steering systems by Benchworks, that will do the reverse ratio on the 79 power steering box I have. Not a bad price, 300 buck. They have a ready made kit for a grand, but I'll go this route. So, gotta run out to storage and grab that box to get it sent off.

Great build, keep up the good work. I have 72 short bed im working on putting a 78 power steering box and the complete front axle in. Will the gear box work like it is or will it need the reverse ratio? Thanks, Dennis

Thanks! You'll need to have the box reversed ratio to work with your 72.

I know I'm coming in late here and I've never been under a 4wd half-ton, but why can't a guy just use a 2wd f250 PS box and point the pitman arm backward?

I think the F-250 is a different set up, but I'm not sure. I haven't run across any F-250 boxes, either. Turns out I had to find a second box, the output shaft on the one I sent down to Benchworks was twisted! So, found another box this week, pulled the shaft, and sent it down to Arizona, so should have that back in a few weeks. Also, should be closing on our new house in a month, so I'll be able to get the cab back home, and get back to work!

Awesome! I remember you packing it all up for making the move. Good to hear that phase is moving forward as it makes room for getting back at the truck.

Well, a little progress to report. Got the steering box back from Benchworks, in Scottsdale, AZ. Looks like a brand new box, and will now work with the 67! If you look close at the picture of the shaft below, you can see the slight twist in it. This was the original shaft.

Been a while since my last update, been working too much on the new house! Still need power in the garage before I can get back on the truck, hopefully after the first of the year. Found these really, really nice inner fenders from a guy here in Omaha, for 140 bucks. Even the battery box is in good shape!

Sorry I didn't answer this sooner, but if you did that, when you turned the wheel to the left, the front wheels would go right!

Update time. Well, figured out those inner fenders I found were for a dentside! Luckily the seller took them back. I'm heading out tomorrow to pick up a 79 -150, to get the dash, front axle (with disc brakes), and the doors. I was thinking how much I liked the 79 XLT door panels, I'm going to look at adapting the 79 door handles to my doors. We'll see. I've finally got a sub box wired into the garage, so I can get back to work, I'll be updating with pics here in the next few weeks.

Finally got back on the truck today. Had to rebuid the rocker, and the bracket that holds the nut to bolt on the bottom of the front fender, they were both trashed. Came out pretty good, that bracket was a PITA to make.
