does the fuild smell burnt? if so its probably rebuild time.

There's some seal rings on the pump housing that wear out and leak in
the clutch drum. These tranny's are easy to do. Most time's seals and
clutches are all you need if it's just slipping. The only special tools you
need are a set of bushing drivers and a clutch spring compressor.

And a manual to look at.

FYI: Always check the inexpensive stuff 1st! (are the bushings/grommets in the shift linkage that wear out with age/use.
If your fluid is carmel colored or has black junks in the filter/screen then your tranny is fried and needs to be rebuilt.
