Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
My Carter yf has been leaking from the throttle shaft since I bought it . It causes a vacuum leak and makes the truck run bad. I've been wanting to upgrade to a alum intake and 4v but don't have the money right now. I found a yf on eBay that's been rebuilt for 80 bucks so i bought it in hopes of it making it run better until I can build my funds up for the 4v upgrade

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I installed a oil gauge with a copper line kit today. Its runs at idle 40 lbs and at 2 grand it has 50 lbs. Not too bad for a 40 year old motor?

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I was at my local bone yard today scoping out parts for my 3g alt upgrade and came across a 90 f150 that had factory speakers mounted behind the seat in the corners. They look like 5x7... Anyway the speaker panels are the same color as my truck and I think they would look pretty good. Problem is the lip on the gas tank is in the way. Can I bend that lip back out of the way without causing tank to leak?

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
Cool josh i will look into how much the whole front end would could set me back. I got christmas weighing on me right now so may have to hold off but whats bad is im thinking their bout to crush it! They have plenty of the dent sides with disc though I am going back out tomorrow i will try to get some pics of those speaker panels, o i just had a idea. Shoot i could pull them and find a bump without a seat and see how they fit up ..Joshpow wrote:You need those discs!! Mines disced now and i love it! It drives so nice with new bushings and brakes! Instead of altering the tank couldn't you modify the panels?timmytim wrote:I was at my local bone yard today scoping out parts for my 3g alt upgrade and came across a 90 f150 that had factory speakers mounted behind the seat in the corners. Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I bought the 5x7 speaker panels today out of a 88 f150 and I believe they will tuck right in beside the gas tank
