When you put it in, did you lube the splines and the pilot bushing?
Was the inside of the bell full of oil? Also you could just have a crappy
disc. What kind of pressure plate is it? Diaphram or Long style?
Sometimes the fingers break on them. Freeplay? around an inch is ok.
IMO it sounds like something in the cluch assembly is out of whack.

OK, try this. Put it in neutral. Push the pedal down and block it with a
2x4 from the pedal to the steering wheel. Go underneath and take the
cover on the bottom off. See if you can turn the disk by hand. You should
be able to. If not, there's a problem. Either the disk is bent/warped or
it's the linkage or the pressure plate. My best guess without seeing it,
would be the disk. If they get bent, warped, or oiled up, They rub on the
cover and the pressure plate at the same time. Then it don't work to good. Keith P

Ok I did what you told me and the plate doesnt come off all the way.And one of the fingers is lose,AGAIN! But I adjusted it to where it comes off but it only comes off right if Ipush it with my finger,or it will still rub a little.Do you think the pressure plate is going bad? This is what happened before and it was only three months old. That was the problem when I did the whole new set again when I went back to claim my warranty.I guess I cant complain the gave everything for free.Do you think the set was a crappy one since the pressure plate it comes with keeps crapping out?

Is what your saying is the abjusters on the fingers on the pressure
plate keep coming loose? Clean and loctite them, maybee fix? They
got to be set real close. Your not even supposed to mess with those.
Try that or it's time to get another pp. ??????

I'll take a stab, does your clutch rod have two nuts to lock the bullet into it's place, only 1 nut will move right? i think so mine had two on it and i lightly snug it to lock it into the place. I guess if it only had one nut you would loose your clutch adjustment after a day or so and maybe that is it.... just maybe

Adam, did you take any photos when you put it back together. I just can't believe you keep getting defective parts. There's gotta be something out of whack in your linkage imo.

I just wanted to mention that the toploader first gears are sincros. BUT if it's a T85 it's a slider first/reverse gear and is NOT sincro. It took me a while when I switched to the T85/R11 overdrive to get use to the non sincro first gear!!

I really hate to ask this, but did you put the flat side of the disk
toward the flywheel? :?

I imagine that every time you stepped on the clutch pedal the clutch disk would get bent, and adjusting it out would only serve to allow it to get bent again until there's no adjustment left.
