an idea

Post by fordman »

i had an idea the other day and i thought i might share it. instead of having blacked out headlight doors. what about paintint the blacked out part the same color as the truck? has anyone thought of this or done it. maybe used glow in the dark colors? that might be kind of neat.

i wonder if a person could get some glow in the dark stuff somewhere? that would look kind of cool with only the parking lights on. and a super quiet muffler. and kind of creep around the city park like that.

I was told they had done away with the glow in the dark powder coat. Not a big enough demand. Can't imagine why :hmm:

That would be wild though to see. I know a few people that put low wattage colored bulbs in there driving lights to get the same effect. I even saw one with the smilly face covers over the lit lights. COOL 8)

i 've seen those colored lights. thats really wasn't the look i was thiking of though. the regular paint would be more of a day look. you probably couldn't see much at night going down the road. but the glow in the dark thing would be cool at night. when you had a chance to just use only the parking lights some place. or it might look bad light low power to the lights and make the truck look like it was on its last leg.

The lights I was talking about are the KC daylights (after market), some 4x4 people like them.

Ya, I kinda bird walked with the glow in the dark stuff.

I think the painted doors might look cool on a lowered hot rodded Ford. It is an idea worth trying I think. I would still spend the money for powder coating them just because of the chip issues from debris.

I think a paintjob like Gravedigger's with the glow in the dark paint in lime green would be sweet.

There's paint out there that is color changing with temp and something with electricity...I'll have to find the site again...just something I found one time while sitting on an aircraft carrier in the gulf...
