According to the identification link the grill on my 1970 looks more like the 69? The VIN number checks out as a 70. Can anybody shed any light on this?
Thanks, -LAnce

Its a pretty clean 69 grille too. to the site. Yes, stop by the "Welcome Mat" and intro yourself and your ride. Post some pics also.

Howdy neighbor! We're pretty close to each other!
That's definitely a '69 grille, but your truck IS a '70. That's apparent from the '70-'72 hood letters and aluminum trim across the front lip of the hood. Your lower valance panel (below the grille) is also the '70-'72 style, evident by the wider notch for the turn signal indicators. In fact you can see the two holes that mounted the '70-'72 turn signal indicators to the valance.
I'd say a previous owner just preferred the look of the older (non-plastic) grilles. Nice-looking truck!

What are those dark marks below the F-O-R-D letters?...Did it have a bug deflecter or something at one time?..

Still looks good though. If you realy want a 70's grill and somebody wants or needs a 69 grill then perhaps some horse trading would be good.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

re: Grill in my 70 F100 Shortbox
Thanks for the nice welcome and great information. I do really like the 69 grill a feel that it looks just fine. I guess I was just curious. From what I was told the trucks original owner was a rancher in western Nebraska. Yes, I think he probably mounted a bug guard or something on the front of the hood.
I don't have any pictures of the inside of the bed, but there are some spots where it is rusted through. They left some rags and junk setting in there I will have figure out what to do with that when I get it home here - maybe around Christmas.
Thanks again,
-LAnce
