SB -- FE C6 driveshaft..... are the lengths the same?

Post by bwc302 »

Has anyone done a comparison (or a swap) and know if a SB and FE C6 driveshaft is the same length?

I don't know if the motor perchs set the motor in the same location that would place the C6 for a SB and BB in the same location, thus using the same auto driveshaft.

inquiring minds (or at least mine) want to know''

Thanks,

Bobby

they are the same for SB and BB. I'm not sure if the front part of the shaft is the same length between long and short beds though

the LWB will have a 2 piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing connecting the 2 pieces and a swb will have a single piece driveshaft going form the back of the trans to the rear axle.

I would think that the yoke for both would be the same with the exception of the LWB drive shafts that was the mouniting plates.

Thanks,

The SWB trucks have a regular car-type slip yoke, since they didn't have the slip joint in the 2-piece driveshaft that the LWB trucks have, and there has to be some provision made for driveshaft movement.

Keith, do you (or does anyone) have a picture of what your referencing? slip yoke vs. slip joint?

Thanks,

Bobby
